A picture of the gardens at the National Trust Killerton near Exeter in Devon.

The NT people at Killerton are prolific tweeters and I thoroughly recommend you follow them on twitter if you are interested in that sort of thing.

I have yet to visit the property but it is on a to do list that is as long as a blue whale's penis (which is fair long even from this distance). There are so many great places still to visit in this wonderful county. I think the diversity of the countryside here in Devon is what makes it so captivating. You can be high on rugged moor, entombed in fog and within the hour be down on sandy beach in blazing sunshine.

Of course no to do list is complete without it's fair share of chores. Household work seems to be a never ending mountain. Painting the fence, cleaning out the loft, grass that needs mowing even though it should have settled in for winter, cut the hedges, take down that bird table that is leaning at an obtuse angle and has been the demise of many a poor sparrow that has alighted there.

Still it's a nice day so they can all go on the backburner, the boots can go on and we can set out on another soul enriching ramble.
